Anti-Bullying Ambassador’s Programme – a Brief History
The Anti-Bullying Ambassador’s Programme in Loreto College Foxrock, a student led initiative, was officially launched at our Whole School Assembly in 2017-18.
Members of our Student Council 2016-17 addressed their wish for everyone in our school to experience the very best of what it means to be part of the community of Loreto College Foxrock. They wanted to find a way to encourage and support all of our students in ensuring that our school is a safe, happy, kind and inclusive place for each student. Most impressively they wanted to do this from within the student body. This was led by two students, Eve Reidy who became our first Anti-Bullying Coordinator, and Anna MacNulty.
Eve Reidy, in her powerful inaugural address stressed the importance of kindness to others, concluding with a quote by Maya Angelou who said:
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

A message from Sarah Coffey and Emer McEnerney
Hello everyone,
We are Sarah Coffey and Emer McEnerney and we are delighted to be your Anti-Bullying Coordinators for this academic year. The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are made up of second to sixth year students who work together to organise events such as Stand-Up Week and Safer Internet Campaigns. We strive to make Loreto Foxrock a happy and safe place for everybody. We work to make sure that everyone feels welcomed and accepted for who they are. We are currently encouraging our new students to sign our ABA student initiative, the school pledge.
Our pledge is:
“By signing the Pledge Book and sealing this with my handprint, I committed to making our school a happier place by treating everyone with real kindness and respect”.
We hope to ensure that every student will have signed the pledge book and placed their handprint on the wall to show their commitment to making our school a positive place.
This year in our school we would like to focus on the need for empathy and respect in a post-Covid world. We want to regain true empathy for others and spread kindness around. We hope to be a place where each of us understands that awareness is good but that actions are better.
Finally, we hope to inspire staff and students to leave a lasting impact in the school for years to come. We are confident that we can uplift and motivate others to show their support. We are very excited for this coming school year and look forward to working with our school community this year.
Finally, we would like to leave you with this:
