Maths Week 2025- Pics

Last week, our school community celebrated Maths Week 2025. Our students participated in lively games, quizzes and competitions throughout the week. The activities were lit up by our TY Maths Week badges, designed by Alannah Flusk and Eadaoin McClean.

The week began with the Daily Riddle, which was announced over the intercom and shared on the school notice boards. Congratulations to our five daily winnersRita Chen, Anna McDonald, Grace O’Callaghan (1st Year), Jia Shin Lee (2nd Year) and Haya Bari (3rd Year).

The annual First Year Maths Quiz took place in the canteen on Monday afternoon. Our deserving winners were Paige Cooney, Elise Moran, Kathleen MacDermott and Isabella Eogan. Prizes also went to our runners-up Eibhlin Sweeney, Ava McAndrew, Sophie O’Connell and Demi Chen.

The 2nd, 4th and 5th Year students all competed in the Maggie Gough Quiz, an online national problem solving competition. Well done to Mary O’Callaghan (5th Year) who was one of 90 students out of 23,200 competitors across the country to score 100% on the quiz.

The 4th , 5th and 6th Years took part in the Pi Challenge, our annual game in which we challenge the students to remember as many digits of Pi as possible. Our impressive winners were Sophia Acosta Mazziota (4th Year, 100 digits), Lauren Kenyon (5th Year, 220 digits), and Sophie Lawlor (6th Year, 144 digits).

There was a fantastic turnout at our annual Senior Quiz, held in the library on Thursday. Our winners were Amelie Cryan, Mary O’Callaghan, Grace O’Reilly and Amelia Scallan in 5th Year. Congratulations also to our runners-up Mia Carley, Hannah Mulloy and Helen Shang in 6th Year.

The Maths Department would also like to express our profound thanks to our 5th Year Maths Compass Team, who announced the Daily Riddles and helped with the running of events throughout the week. They are Molly Bennett, Michelle Ou, Seren Kiely, Grace O’Reilly, Nia O’Shea and Chloe McBride.
