Our team travelled to Clonmel to compete in the Loreto Athletics competition, where over 30 Foxrock athletes proudly represented the school in a wide range of events. The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, with our students showing tremendous determination, teamwork, and school spirit. Their hard work paid off as Foxrock brought home an impressive haul of medals, while every one of our relay teams secured qualification for their finals.

Competing against 15 schools, Foxrock achieved a superb 5th place overall — a brilliant accomplishment and a testament to the strength of athletics in the school.

The excitement continued at the East Leinster Championships, held over two action-packed days. Once again, our athletes rose to the occasion, delivering exceptional performances and earning even more medals. An incredible five Foxrock students qualified for the Leinster Finals — a huge achievement at such a competitive level.

A special congratulations goes to our standout performers:

• Doireann O’Donoghue — 3rd place in the 800m and crowned East Leinster Champion in Javelin
• Aoife Murphy — silver medals in both the 1500m and 3000m
• Eva Kelly — silver medalist in the 800m
• Lauryn Healy — Senior Girls’ High Jump Champion
• Eva Munnelly — Senior Girls’ Long Jump Champion

These achievements reflect the incredible commitment, resilience, and talent of our athletes and coach Mr Murphy. We are immensely proud of everyone who competed and represented Foxrock with such passion and pride. 

Representing the school with incredible pride, determination and skill, the team rose to the challenge in spectacular fashion. After a series of fiercely competitive matches against the provincial champions, our girls secured an outstanding 3rd place finish in Ireland — an extraordinary achievement at national level. Their teamwork, resilience and fighting spirit were on display throughout the tournament and made the entire school community immensely proud.

A very special thank you goes to John Pearson for his unwavering commitment, encouragement and hard work with the team throughout the season.

Our Minor A Team also enjoyed an excellent Leinster campaign, reaching the Semi Final before coming up against a very strong Mount Anville side.

The excitement isn’t over yet for tennis — our Minor C Team still have everything to play for as they head into their Leinster Semi Final! Best of luck to the team as they continue their fantastic run.

We are delighted to share some fantastic news from our Art Department.

Congratulations to Jessa Jukic (2 Ward), who has won First Place in Category B (ages 14–15) at the prestigious Texaco Children’s Art Competition. Jessa’s winning entry is a stunning coloured‑pencil portrait of her sister Jolié, beautifully titled “I Want to Be Under the Sea.”

This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to Jessa’s dedication and talent. She spent many hours carefully working on the portrait, demonstrating outstanding skill and attention to detail.

Last Tuesday, April 21st, Jessa attended a media reception with her family at the Herbert Park Hotel, where prize winners were announced to the press. Professional photographs from the event were taken and are shared below with kind permission from Jessa’s family.

Jessa will also attend the official awards ceremony at Druids Glen Hotel on May 27th to celebrate her success.

As part of her achievement, Jessa has received a €450 first prize along with €100 worth of art materials.

Well done to all our students who have been submitting coursework (projects) across a wide range of subjects, as well as completing orals and practical exams over the past month. It has been an exhausting time, but all the hard work will be worth it.

Student Wellbeing Team

This outstanding team—Yilin Wu, Tanya Mohanty, Grace O’Callaghan, Yashvi Rajesh Kannan, Sarah O’Callaghan, and Darcey Lavin—have shown extraordinary dedication and determination throughout the year. Their hard work has paid off in spectacular fashion, securing a clean sweep of all three major titles: Dublin, Leinster, and now the National Championship.

Behind this success lies countless hours of training, commitment, and teamwork. The effort these girls have put in, alongside the guidance and support of their fantastic coach Ray, has been nothing short of inspiring—and they truly deserve every bit of their success and those gold medals.

We look forward to celebrating this remarkable achievement properly in school next term. From all the staff and students in Foxrock, a massive well done to an exceptional group of athletes!

• Aoife May (2nd Year) played with the Leinster U16 team as they travelled to The Hague.
• Anna Forde (2nd Year) was part of the Irish U16 squad who travelled to Germany, where she scored her first international goal.
• Siobhán Emerson (TY) travelled with the Irish U18 squad to France.

We are incredibly proud of all three girls for their dedication and achievements!

The camp welcomed students from a variety of schools, all of whom brought great enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to each session. It was wonderful to see skills developing and confidence growing throughout the week.

A special thank you to our coaches for their time, expertise, and encouragement, which made the experience so positive for all involved.
