Mary Ward Week was celebrated during the week 20th - 24th January. Special thanks to Joanne Brock who ran a hugely successful and enjoyable week in school.
Here in LCF, our week was an incredible, action-packed celebration of women and girls in society as well as a reflection on women in the world today. Students were immersed in the message of Mary Ward who said "Women in time will come to do much". From 'Fun Sports Blitzes' to Table Quizzes to Panel Talks in the company of distinguished Irish women and past pupils of our school, LCF students enjoyed a vibrant and interesting week. The LCF staff and students brought in hamper items for women refugees and raised money for a local women's refuge centre.
Our panellists during the week were:
Wednesday 22nd Women in Sport: Grace O Flanagan – Irish Hockey Womens World Cup Finalist; Sinead Aherne – Dublin GAA Captain; Aisling Naughton – Irish Hockey Womens Panelist; Rashidat Adeleke – European Gold Medal Sprinter; Roisin Mc Govern – Irish U19 Soccer Captain
